A Transformative Experience for the 3C Class
In January, the 3C class participated in a unique and enlightening workshop organized by Science Pool and funded through Wiener Bildungschancen. The workshop provided students with a firsthand experience of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities or mobility restrictions, offering a perspective that many often take for granted.
During the workshop, students were put in situations that simulated daily challenges, such as navigating a shopping experience in a wheelchair, boarding a tram while managing a buggy, and walking around with impaired vision. Simple tasks that most of us do without a second thought became unexpectedly difficult and exhausting for the 3C students.
The outing proved to be both fun and eye-opening. Not only did it encourage empathy and understanding, but it also gave students a new appreciation for the importance of accessibility in everyday life. By slipping into another person's shoes, the 3C class gained valuable insights into the realities that many people face on a daily basis.
This workshop was a powerful reminder of how important it is to foster inclusivity and awareness in our communities—ensuring that everyone has equal access to opportunities and experiences. The 3C class walked away with a deeper understanding of these challenges, and hopefully, a lasting commitment to making a difference in creating a more accessible world for all.
